Making up is difficult to conceive of during the heat of a furious break up. Although there's tremendous pain whenever two people have harsh words, say things they normally would NEVER say to each other and then force a breakup that, deep down, they know should never have happened. Regrets, shame, anger and frustration are just some of the emotions that create a rollercoaster out of life as you try to make some sense out of a situation that's gotten way out of hand.
How did this happen? Can it be turned around and things put back in their right place with your ex-girlfriend or ex-boyfriend? Is is possible to salvage anything from the ashes that are left? Heck, yeah it is! There's always hope and there's always a solution. You just need to find it. But, first let's review a few things.
As a result of a relationship broken do you find yourself doing any of these things?
Stop eating or have a hard time eating?
Or the opposite, binge eat to kill the pain?
Do you check you email or voice mail over and over and over again hoping against hope that there's a message?
Do you go over the same thoughts in your head, over and over, practising what you might say if you happen to see them?
Do you find yourself depressed?
Do you find yourself having trouble focusing during the day because all can think about is calling or texting them?
Do you think you have panic attacks?
The Art of Getting Your Ex Back with You.
And, we know what DOESN'T work (don't we!):
Apologizing for everything unendingly if they would just come back (reeks of desperation)
Swearing to be the only one to change (reeks of weakness)
Begging them to take you back (reeks of desperation AND weakness)
Taking all of the blame and fault for what happened if they would just re-try (can you say "doormat")
So, what to do? What to do? It's important that you start by taking a deep breath and sitting back and decide you're actually going to do something positive to get back together. Something that's rational and not degrading to yourself. Think about the ways of working it out that put you in the best light, make you look strong (as opposed to falling apart), and even may have them be the one that comes across desperately wanting to work it out. It's very possible to fashion a result that makes them think THEY thought about making it work again!
A sort of reverse psychology. Use techniques designed to have them desire to try it over and forget the past. Do a little research and you’ll find tremendous results and with a great self image.
