Looking after your health and body are key to mothers. Simple things like taking time out from busy schedules and routines are crucial to achieving good health and body. When you fail to look after your health as a mother, your body suffers.

One of the major challenges of motherhood is finding time to eat healthy foods. Most mothers struggle to make time as they have to many things to juggle at the same time. Recent research done on pregnant women revealed that mothers eating habits while pregnant can be linked to their child's growth and development after birth.

The study went further to show that a mothers eating habits can affects her child's physical look and behavioral traits. Children's eating habits later in life can also be affected, in addition to their chances of sustaining a good weight loss.

The Heart Institute's Canadian Cardiovascular Genetics Research Centre revealed that the methylation of DNA can affect existing mechanisms in the muscles that controls weight loss, making it hard to lose weight.

The belief is that some outside environmental factors can affect gene expression in kids. In this example, this may be the reason why the mechanism that controls weight loss in muscles is capped.

If this research findings are for real, then its makes sense more mothers to take their health seriously by eating the right kinds of food from the time of they conceive. This will be a good start for their kids living a more healthy life.

By the year 2050, it is reported that 9 out of 10 kids will be obese. This is scary, however as with this information, you can take control and practice good healthy lifestyle with your kids right from when they are young.

The best way to start is with yourself. Set an example of eating the right food and doing regular exercise. Your kids will watch and learn from you. In fact the best time to get yourself going with this is on this upcoming mothers day.
